The boys and girls of Room 5 and Ms.Snobel would like to welcome you to our Class Page. We hope that you enjoy looking at our photographs and reading about all the things we have learned and experienced.
Room 5 has submitted a fabulous entry for the Overton Farm Blossom Competition: creating a flower from recycled materials.
We will continue to read our group books and answer questions to build on our comprehension skills. We will be reading George and the Marvellous Medicine for a class novel.
We have written wonderful Spring Haiku poems and will also be looking at various non-fiction tasks in Writing
As part of developing our Talking and Listening Skills Room 5 will continue with Blether Stations and other Listening skills activities and present Solo Talks to the class.
We are learning about time- half past , o'clock and quarter past the hour on both analogue and digital clocks. We have been using Thinking Questions to solve maths problems in small groups.
We are working hard learning about global trade and fair trade and will be planning a fairtrade party as part of our Enterprise topic.
We are continuing to develop our Yoga skills and making the most of opportunities for Outdoor Yoga. We will be looking at Growth Mindset this term to encourage children to have a “can do” attitude, to work hard and put in effort to be successful and to be resilient from a failure is how we learn and improve our skillset.
Term 4 in PE will be focussing on athletics and learning about the different athletic components and actions of running, jumping and throwing. The children will be learning how to use their lead leg for gaining a stride pattern whilst jumping over hurdles and also how to gain distance whilst throwing objects from a standing position. Please note for the safety of all pupils it is important that your child has secure fitting, non-slippery indoor shoes and removes all jewellery for these sessions. Loose and/or long hair should also be tied back.
